Cimber Air announces new flights to Copenhagen from Edinburgh, Newcastle and Gatwick
Danish airline Cimber has announced ambitious plans to introduce new flights from Copenhagen (CPH) under a new brand "Cimber Sterling". The UK will gain links to Copenhagen, Kastrup from Newcastle (NCL), Edinburgh (EDI) and London Gatwick (LGW).
Cimber Air acquired the Sterling Airlines brand name and took over some of the aircraft leases after Sterling ceased operations at the end of October last year.
The flights from London to Copenhagen will be twice a day Monday to Friday plus once on Sunday.
The flights from Newcastle to Copenhagen will be daily except Saturday.
The flights from Edinburgh to Copenhagen will be every Monday, Friday and Sunday.
I think there will be a fierce price war on UK - Copenhagen routes in 2009. The best prices will be on Gatwick where Norwegian, easyJet and now Cimber - Sterling will all be competing for customers. Great news for customers. There are also other airlines flying as alternatives to Sterling.
